Veterinarian Supervised Boarding & Grooming
Boarding
When you have to be away for a vacation, a short trip or just for the day, we are here to take care of your pet. Our boarding facilities are indoors and climate controlled. This avoids disease carrying flies and parasites, as well as providing a comfortable temperature for your pet the year round. We also offer the option of a TLC package for your pet to provide additional daily playtime, walks, and brushing.
Bigger dogs stay in runs or large cages, while small dogs and cats stay in cages in a separate room. Dogs are taken out at least three times daily to one of our two covered outdoor yards for playtime and exercise. An affordable go-home bath is offered so that your dog is returned to you clean and fresh.
Boarding reservations should be made prior to drop-off to ensure a spot for your pet. At check-in, a staff member will ask for an emergency contact person, your pet's feeding instructions, health concerns, medication instructions, grooming options and any other special requirements you or your pet may have. This ensures the proper care of your pet during his/her visit.
Pets are fed Science Diet Maintenance based on their weight. If you prefer, you may provide your pet's individual diet as well as a familiar toy or blanket.
Caged pets (birds, rabbits, etc.) need to be brought in their regular cages along with their regular food.
Boarding Requirements
For your pet's protection, as well as for that of other pets staying with us, the following vaccines are required:
Dogs: Must have documentation of current rabies, distemper, parvo, leptospirosis, and kennel cough vaccines as well as a negative intestinal parasite examination within the past year. Must also receive monthly flea and intestinal parasite prevention. Please call our office if you have any questions.
Cats: Must have documentation of current rabies and distemper vaccines. Must also receive monthly flea and intestinal parasite prevention. Please call our office if you have any questions.
If your pet is not current, we will be happy to bring anything needed up to date. Please call us for boarding rates as they vary, depending on your pet's size and individual needs. We invite you to tour our boarding facilities at any time during regular office hours.
Grooming
Springtown Veterinary Hospital offers our clients limited grooming in our facility—bathing, brushing, anal sac expression and nail trims—but we do recommend some very talented local, full-service groomers. They are:
