Daniel A. Nowland, DVM

Daniel A. Nowland, DVMDr. Daniel A. Nowland has been a Small Animal Practitioner and co-owner of Springtown Veterinary Hospital with his wife, Dr. Sally Nowland, since 1991.

Dr. Nowland says that his earliest influence guiding him toward a veterinary career was his grandfather who owned a farm in Clifton, Texas, as well as watching the local veterinarian work on the cattle and dogs at the farm. "Growing up I spent a lot of time at my grandfather's farm and helped with the cattle," he says. "I also spent a lot of time while growing up in Pflugerville at friends' farms helping with the livestock. After having practiced since 1984, Dr. Nowland says that he still enjoys the variety of the work. "One minute you are a surgeon, the next a dermatologist, the next a radiologist, and the next an orthopedist. I especially enjoy the reward of making animals well and their owners happy."

Cherry Seaton, DVM

Cherry Seaton, DVMDr. Cherry Seaton is a Small Animal Practitioner who has been with Springtown Veterinary Hospital since 1988.

"Even as a small child my ambition was to one day become a veterinarian," she says. "I grew up in a family of animal lovers, with three brothers and one sister. My parents were very tolerant of our longing for oodles of pets. We had a large variety, including dogs, cats, horses, rabbits and even a pet raccoon. The first pet I remember having was a Guinea pig. My father was a medical doctor and, along with my love for animals, he became my inspiration early on to become a doctor for animals."

Now that she is a practicing veterinarian, Dr. Seaton says the day-to-day challenges and variety keeps her interests peaked. "You never know what is going to walk, crawl or be carried through the front door," she says. "No two days are alike. My patients can’t speak for themselves and I take pride in being a patient advocate by providing the highest quality care possible. I work with a compassionate, well trained healthcare team in a modern, progressive hospital. We all understand the strong bond that our clients have with their pets, and realize they are part of the family."

For her undergraduate studies Dr. Seaton first attended Eastfield College and then Texas A&M University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science in 1976. Later that same year she entered Texas A&M University's College of Veterinary Medicine and earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1979.
